There's a noose under your pillow-brand new, with all the knots perfectly coiled into place. Just enough rope to hang yourself from a rafter, if you stood on a chair.
[He's been...thinking. Thinking for a few days about what Adachi told him about Yosuke. About what he felt with his own hand...and the horrible thing Adachi hinted at.
Something that makes Ichigo's stomach churn to consider.
did he really-?]
...Yosuke. We...need to talk.
[His voice is tight, restrained-trying to hide the dread and doubt he's been wrestling with. He...he has to hear this from Yosuke, first.]
[It's been two days since Yosuke made that stupid network post. Since then, Ichigo has only been one of many people to publicly admonish him for what he suggested. In hindsight, Yosuke knows they're all right - they can't stop fighting, can't stop trying, or else it means they win.
But he isn't feeling any more capable of actually trying anymore.
When Ichigo calls him, he almost doesn't answer the phone. Then, he realizes it might be his chance, and he picks up. Just as he thought - "we need to talk."]
...Ichigo. [Yosuke is still tired, but he sounds more withdrawn compared to earlier. Not as emotional. Before anything else is said, he blurts:] -- I'm sorry. I'm sorry, you were right.
[Yosuke's not sure he wants Ichigo to come see him. The truth is that he was swept away by Teddie once he found him, and he's spent the last day and a half sleeping and eating and slowly starting to feel less sorry for himself.
He becomes worried at the mention of the detective.]
[Yosuke is exhausted. First, the thing with Kon and Orihime yesterday - and then his argument with Souji this afternoon... he's tired, he's so done with dealing with all of this, and it's starting to wear him out all over again.
But Kon obviously wasn't convinced, and this is still his responsibility. So here we go again.]
...it's pretty much just exactly what I told you before. He killed two women. And 'cause he's a cop, he was able to cover it up and tried to shift the blame to somebody else. It took us, like, eight months to catch him.
But there is more Kon can find out, or so he thinks.]
Alright.
You mentioned others that are here are from your world. Could you tell me who they are, so I can talk to them too? And maybe give me a phone number so I can get in contact with them.
[There was someone else Ichigo needed to apologize to. The person he'd wronged the most, who lied at the very top of his list.
Yosuke.
And even if he didn't have the strength to make it all the way to southtown, he still had enough strength to use orihime's phone to contact him - after he'd switched it to speech-to-text, of course.]
[ and his voice is as calm as ever, despite the fact that he's watching another little herd of mermen start advancing on naoto's house. ] Things are getting a little... interesting out here, so I was calling to check in. Are you okay?
[Yosuke doesn't pick up immediately - he's fighting a pair of particularly determined Mermen when his phone starts to vibrate in his pocket. But a few minutes later, once he has a chance to catch his breath and move to a safer place, he answers.]
Hey, man - still there? Sorry, I had my hands full. Or, I guess I had my knives full, heh.
Yeah... I'm still in one piece. TSO is completely trashed, though. Where are you guys? Naoto's place? Are you safe?

Looks like they saw your little network post.

So he pauses for a moment, before shaking his head.]
It's...it's fine. I wasn't even-
[That worry and doubt cracks through his voice a little, and he clears his throat.]
-Don't worry about it. Hey, uh...can I come see you? I've got something I need to ask you in person.
[Another pause.]
It's...about Adachi-san.

When Ichigo speaks, there's a lot of anger behind his words. Anger and hurt, all aimed Yosuke's way.]
Stay the hell away from me.
[Click.
He won't respond to any messages coming from Yosuke anymore.

Alright, lay it on me. Tell me everything you know.

Yeah. Um... their names are Souji Seta, Kanji Tatsumi and Teddie. Hold on, I'll text you their numbers. [does so.]
... did you ask Adachi about the names yet?

When you get this, please return my call. I have commandeered one of the houses on the Boardwalk and am looking for others from home.
Thank you.
[Short, businesslike, and to the point. Although Yosuke should know that's pretty par for the course for Naoto]

We're okay. Naoto and I are together, but we're getting ready to move. The shore's getting a little... active.
[ which is a nice way of saying that they're being invaded by undersea visitors, but. ]
